There are some classics and some fairly recent horror films that'll help you keep the spook alive this Halloween season. The Conjuring (2013)

The Conjuring is one of the cult movies that have continued to spook everyone throughout the years. Directed by James Wan, it's the first part in the Conjuring series. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

What better than a cult classic like A Nightmare on Elm Street helmed by Wes Craven? The film stars Heather Langenkamp, John Saxon, Ronee Blakley, and Johnny Depp alongside Robert Englund as Freddie Kruger. Beware of Kruger. The Amityville Horror (1979)

Halloween (1978)

Another slasher and a super hit one at that is this 70s horror Halloween. Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) and Bob Clark's Black Christmas (1974), John Carpenter introduced this horror flick starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasance. US (2019)

The Exorcism Of Emily Rose (2005)

A supernatural thriller with a legal twist, what an interesting combo, no? Scott Derrickson-directed film starring Laura Linney and Tom Wilkinson, the story is loosely based on Anneliese Michel. IMDB rating: 6.7/10 Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Vudu, Netflix

Annabelle (2014)

Annabelle is a prequel to The Conjuring, directed by John R. Leonetti. The film stars Annabelle Wallis, Wardon Horton, Tony Amendola and Alfre Woodard to name a few.
