The Screen Actors Guild Awards 2023 were held in Los Angeles' Fairmont Century Plaza. The red carpet was held before the big awards ceremony and we saw several big names gracing the carpet in their best outfits and plus ones. From Brandon Fraser to Michelle Yeoh, Zendaya, Rooney Mara, Eddie Redmayne and more looked their very best. It sure was a very glamorous night with the ladies putting their best foot forward while the men oozed handsomeness. Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series
The White Lotus cast won beating the likes of other multi-starrer and popular TV shows such as Ozark, The Crown, Better Call Saul and Severance.
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series
Jennifer Coolidge has been winning hearts for her performance in The White Lotus. At the SAG Awards 2023, she beat the likes of Zendaya (nominated for Euphoria), Julia Garner ( nominated for Ozark), Elizabeth Debicki (nominated for The Crown) and Laura Linney (nominated for Ozark).
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series
Jeff Bridges who was nominated for The Old Man, Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, and Adam Scott and who were nominated for Better Call Saul and Severance lost the trophy to Jason Bateman who won it for his performance in Ozark.
Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series
Abbott Elementary cast won big at the SAG Awards 2023 at Fairmont Live Plaza beating other comedy series such as Only Murders in the Building, The Bear, Barry and Hacks.
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series
Jenna Ortega of Wednesday fame, Quinta Brunson from Abbott Elementary, Christina Applegate who starred in Dead to Me and Rachel Brosnahan from The Marvelous Mrs Maisel lost out the Outstanding Performance in comedy series to Jean Smart from Hacks.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series
Jeremy Allen White of The Bear lifted the trophy for Outstanding Performance Male in Comedy series beating the likes of Steve Martin (Only Murders in the Building), Anthony Carrigan (Barry), Bill Hader (Barry) and Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building).
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role
Michelle Yeoh won the trophy for Everything Everywhere All at Once. Others nominated in the category for motion picture were Cate Blanchett for Tar, Ana de Armas for Blonde, Viola Davis for The Woman King and Danielle Deadwyler for Till.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role
The lead actor trophy was lifted by none other than Brendan Fraser for his stint in The Whale. He beat other nominees such as Adam Sandler (nominated for Hustle), Austin Butler (nominated for Elvis), Colin Farrell (nominated for The Banshees of Inisherin) and Bill Nighy who was nominated for Living.
Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
Talking about the motion picture's best cast, Everything Everywhere All at Once won beating Women Talking, Babylon, The Fabelmans and The Banshees of Inisherin.
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role
Jamie Lee Curtis lifted the Female Actor in a supporting role trophy for Everything Everywhere All at Once. She gave a powerful speech, savagely slamming the naysayers. Jamie was nominated alongside Hong Chau (The Whale), Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever).
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role
Eddie Redmayne, Paul Dano, Barry Keoghan and Brendan Gleeson who were nominated for The Good Nurse, The Fabelmans and The Banshees of Inisherin respectively, lost the trophy to Ke Huy Quan who won it for Everything Everywhere All at Once. Sally Field was given the Life Achievement Award at the SAG Awards this time.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role
Brendan Fraser lifted the Leading Role Male actor trophy for The Whale. Competing against him for the trophy were Colin Farrell (nominated for The Banshees of Inisherin, Austin Butler (nominated for Elvis, Adam Sandler (nominated for Hustle) and Bill Nighy (nominated for Living).
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series
Inventing Anna's Julia Garner, The Dropout star Amanda Seyfried, Dahmer Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story actress Niecy Nash-Betts and The English actress Emily Blunt lost out in front of Jessica Chastain who won for George & Tammy.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series
Steve Carell, Even Peters, Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser were nominated for The Patient, Dahmer and Black Bird. But Sam Elliott lifted the trophy for 1883.
Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series
Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Andor, House of the Dragon and The Boys couldn't beat Stranger Things for the best stunts performed by the Ensemble cast.
Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture
Lastly, Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun: Maverick picked the Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture beating the likes of Avatar: The Way of Water, The Batman, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and The Woman King.
