Tom Holland Hospitalised: Tom Holland was hospitalised for a brief period of time on Friday, Septerber 19, following a concussion he sustained while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Sun reports that shooting was suspended at Leavesden Studios in Watford when the 29-year-old Spider-Man actor was hurt while doing a stunt. Emergency services were called to the studio after the incident, the site stated, citing medical professionals.
"We were called at 10.30am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care," the statement said.
According to The Sun, a lady who was allegedly a stunt double in the same scenario was also injured and taken off set in an ambulance.
Tom Holland takes brief break, set to return soon?
Holland will be back on the set in a few days after taking a "precautionary" break, according to a Deadline source. Holland had been excited about going back to real-world filming locations prior to the accident. Due of pandemic constraints, Spider-Man: No Way Home was filmed nearly exclusively on soundstages, he said, and he was excited to shoot in actual settings once more.
"Now, we're really gonna lean into that old-school filmmaking and shoot in real locations, which is why we're starting in Glasgow and we're gonna use the streets of Glasgow to build this massive set-piece that we're putting together," Holland detailed.
"So it's gonna feel like making [2017's] Spider-Man 1 again. It's been such a long time since I've done it, it's gonna feel like a breath of fresh air, and I think the fans are going to be over the moon with what we're putting together," he added.
How netizens reacted?
Following the accident, an X user shared an image online, claiming it showed Holland injured after the stunt. On wrote, "Pray for Tom Holland ?." Anither commented, "Image of injured Tom Holland after doing his own stunt."
It is still unknown, though, if that image is real or connected to the actual incident.
Meanwhile, according to a Deadline report, a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow to adjust filming plans.
